We will continue our virtual speaker series on June 24th at 7PM, and we will celebrate the accomplishments of some of our own Pioneers!

Stan Anderson will speak on Apollo Range Instrumented Aircraft (ARIA), and Kevin Simmons and students from the Wolfpack CubeSat Development Team will fully share the experience of how CubeSats are the disruptive educational tool of the future.

About Our Speakers

Stanley Anderson

Stanley Anderson served in the US Air Force, 1959 – 1979, retiring as a Master Sergeant, Computer Systems Superintendent.  From 1968 – 1971 he was NCO-In-Charge of the Aircraft Operations Control Center, Patrick AFB, FL supporting Apollo missions 4 through 14 deploying Apollo Range Instrumentation Aircraft (ARIA) providing astronaut communications around the world. Retiring from a career in Data Processing in 2008, he has spoken on Project Apollo and ARIA to dozens of Middle and High School classes in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Melbourne, Australia and made an ARIA presentation at the 70th International Astronautical Congress, Washington, DC in 2019.  He is a recipient of NASA’s Apollo Achievement Award.

Kevin Simmons

Kevin L. Simmons is a professional educator, author, principal investigator and Missileer. He founded BLUECUBE Aerospace, Inc., co-created the Aerospace and Innovation Academy, Inc. (AIA), and currently leads the Wolfpack CubeSat Development team (WCDT) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Simmons has been recognized numerous times for excellence in aerospace and education and is the  Principal Investigator for WeissSat-1 and CapSat-1, CubeSat missions selected by NASA’s CubeSat Launch Initiative (CSLI). He led the first middle school team to launch a CubeSat on December 3rd, 2018 and his WCDT was the only K-12 entity selected nationwide by the 2019 CSLI. For the presentation, he will be joined by a few students ranging from middle to high school to fully share the experience of how CubeSats are the disruptive educational tool of the future.
